Following a career as a photojouranalist, the visual artist Lise McGreevy presents this photographic essay depicting abandoned homes in Donegal. The documentary artist chose this location given its unique position – geographically north but under the jurisdiction of the south, thus representing both sides of the border.
The abandoned homes represent our languages, culture and heritage and ask the viewer “have we abandoned these for the sake of the political divide here?” Composer Marie Therese Davis, poet Jim Johnston and film maker Paul Whittaker created original works based on McGreevy photographs. Davis and Johnston work shall be shown alongside this exhibition.
You are very welcome to the launch of this exhibition on Thursday 07/11/2019 at 7:00pm in Dánlann Dillon. Refreshments will be provided.
Running Time: | 8 weeks |
