What is An Chultúrlann?

Many organisations have been, or still are, based in Cultúrlann McAdam Ó Fiaich in Belfast since the centre opened in 1991. This panel discussion took place at Féile na Carraige as part of the 30 year celebration of An Chultúrlann, with Colma Nic Sheáin (Gaelchúrsaí), Colm Mac Aindreasa (the newspaper LÁ) and Feargal Mac Ionnrachtaigh (Director of Glór na Móna who joined Meánscoil Feirste as a pupil in 1992). Chair is Gráinne Ní Ghilín (Cultúrlann McAdam Ó Fiaich). Supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund.

To kick off our 30 year celebration of the opening of Cultúrlann McAdam Ó Fiaich in 1991, we are delighted to exhibit a selection of paintings, drawings and prints from our own collection. As our doors are currently closed here is a look at some of the brilliant pieces of art currently on display.

Be sure not to miss this superb poetry presentation with renowned poets, Ciara Ní É, Padraig Mac Aoidh and Ifor ap Glyn. As we celebrate Culture Night, it is timely that we look at indigenous language and what they mean to us encompassing the themes of choice, envy/desire, exhilaration and the future.
