Storytelling was once a central part of life in Ireland. Two local pipers, Aodán 'Jaff' Mac Séafraidh and Cormac 'Buzz' Ó Briain, are bringing this ancient art form to new audiences throughout the country and beyond. Not only are they excellent story-tellers, but they are exceptional pipers as well.

The pair came together to tell traditional stories to the public and to share the love they have for their beloved instrument, the uilleann pipes. This is a collection of stories, told with beautiful musical accompaniment, offering a unique perspective and depth to the stories.

Said Cormac, “There are a couple of traditional story-tellers left in the country, and plenty of great pipers, but as far as we know there isn’t anyone who has put the pipes and the story-telling together since the old days, like Shéamuis Ennis and other musicians would have done. We always learned the stories behind the music but it’s only after people began approaching us regularly asking us to perform that we decided to structure the performances to provide lively renditions of reels and jigs and slow, moving airs that accompany fairy tales, tragedies, unbelievable adventure and the old tradition.”
