Medea is the most renowned of the Greek classical dramas with a family conflict at the heart of it. A man abandons his wife with little cause and she exacts terrible revenge. The drama is famous for its portrayal of women’s minds when their personal rights are disregarded. Renowned actress Tara Breathnach (Anne Boleyn in the BBC documentary, The Last Days of Anne Boleyn and May Collingwood in A Nightingale Falling) plays the part of Medea and the classical dancing interwoven into the stage show greatly adds to the production.
